Happy Weekend 3rd Grade Families,

I am happy with how the Friday Folders (manilla envelopes) are going so far! I hope you agree that this system works well with helping to keep track of all weekly work. 😊

We have been discussing Blessing Bags, our Service Project for Catholic Schools’ Week. Each student has received a large Ziploc bag. Please consider making a Blessing Bag with your child which will be distributed by BTCC’s Servants of the Servant Ministry to the homeless in Jacksonville. We are asking that each bag be filled with a small or travel size of the following items: wipes, toothpaste, toothbrush, Kleenex, deodorant, water bottle, hand sanitizer, and a snack, such as crackers or granola or protein bars. Please don’t put your child’s name on the bag! Our 8th grade students are working on creating prayer cards which will be inserted into each bag. Filled bags are due back by next Friday, 1/28. *Students who participate in this service project will earn 10 extra credit points (added to their lowest test grade in Religion for this quarter).

Remember to have your student practice their multiplication math facts. Besides using flash cards, they can go to ixl.com to practice.  Login to ixl.com. Their user name and password is in their planner. We use ixl in the classroom so they should know how to login and navigate the site. Go to Grade 3. Then go to the multiplication skills (work on any of the F skills: F1-F13).

Please work with your child on how to tie their shoes! A few students have told me that they have never learned.

We are running low on classroom snacks (for those students who forget a snack). We are also running low on large bottles of hand sanitizer. Please send one in this week with your student.
